Our laboratories focus on the sustainability of neighborhood space　and　community　and　the methodology for implementation. Living spaces should correspond to the ways in which communities function. We work to understand living spaces since they reflect the changes　and　transformations society is undergoing. Based on such understanding, we develop ways of conceptualizing how space planning　and　space policies should be.
Our laboratories have had more opportunities in recent years to participate in local projects　and　to work with local governments　and　residents who take the initiative in them. We build on traditional urban planning　and　housing policy　and　incorporate cross-disciplinary thinking　and　experimental methods proactively in our research　and　education.
