HOSOKAI LAB operates in the fields of architecture, urbanism and cultural analysis. By conducting meticulous research into art, global lifestyle, culture, history, economy, religion and politics, the LAB aims to create works of architecture as new histories. As old structures in Japan are being lost to development, the LAB aims to create a kind of archival architecture, inheriting fragments of the historical cityscape and expressing these memories into the future.
